Grosset & Dunlap is the publisher for the original series and revisions. Most Drew fans agree that the Original Text versions of the story are superior to their revised counterparts. Revisions ranged from a light edit to a totally new story. The revised tales and stories published since 1959 have a more or less uniform length to lower publishing costs. The revisions eliminated obsolete prose and, in some cases, racial stereotypes that would today be considered offensive. Over the years the books have had new cover art and, from 1959 to 1977, the first 34 stories have been revised. ![]() Since her introduction in April of 1930, the Nancy Drew books have never been out of print.
